Robotic Capping Technology
A robotic approach to closure handling, used where closure types vary across SKUs or where a flexible cell is preferable to dedicated mechanical capping hardware.
Robotic capping stands among the most adaptable capping technologies available, combining high speed with precise sorting and application of caps, pumps, and triggers, along with fast switching between cap types.
A Delta Robot–based sorter paired with an advanced vision system orients and sorts caps of nearly any style, from complex screw tops to trigger and pump closures, with high precision.
A servo-controlled Cartesian pick-and-place arm — a two-axis gantry robot — tracks and places caps onto moving bottles for consistent, efficient operation.
Running at speeds up to 100 ppm, the system combines bottle tracking with a synchronized gantry robot driven by encoders and servos. Its Siemens/AB PLC and HMI give operators full command over format changes and motion settings, and robotic assistance keeps changeover time to roughly 5–20 minutes.
Standard equipment includes servo-controlled torque QC and cap position QC. Optional additions include vision-based cap position verification, fully automatic servo changeover (cutting downtime below five minutes and removing operator error), orientation handling for angled-neck bottles, and ATEX/EX compliance for hazardous locations.
